Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to unveil a series of projects in Sambalpur, Odisha, on February 3. These projects, worth Rs 68,400 crore, are aimed at enhancing connectivity, energy infrastructure, and driving economic growth in the region. One of the highlights of this visit is the inauguration of three power projects, including NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project Stage-3, NTPC Darlipali Super Thermal Power Station, and NSPCL Rourkela PP-II Expansion Project. - Nagpur Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline Section:
- Laying the foundation stone for this 692 Km pipeline section, part of the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline, with an investment of over Rs 2660 crore.
Power Projects Dedication:
- NTPC Darlipali Super Thermal Power Station:
- Dedication of the 2×800 MW power station in Sundargarh district.
- NSPCL Rourkela PP-II Expansion Project:
- Dedication of the expansion project (1×250 MW) in Sundargarh district, contributing to Odisha’s power supply.
- NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project, Stage-III:
- Laying the foundation stone for this 2×660 MW project in Angul district.
- NLC Talabira Thermal Power Project:
- Foundation stone laying for a project exceeding Rs 27000 crore, aligning with the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’
Coal Infrastructure Unveiling:
- First Mile Connectivity (FMC) Projects:
- Inauguration of projects including Bhubaneswar Phase-I in Talcher Coalfields and Lajkura Rapid Loading System (RLS).
- Ib Valley Washery:
- Inauguration of this innovative coal processing facility in Jharsuguda district.
- Jharsuguda-Barpali-Sardega Rail Line Phase-1:
- Dedication of the second track, spanning 50 km, to enhance rail network capacity.

During this visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate three power projects with a total worth of Rs 28,978 crore. Additionally, he will dedicate three projects by NHAI, reaffirming the commitment to the state’s development. These three power projects belong to the leading power production company NTPC Limited. They include NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project Stage-3 (2×660 MW), NTPC Darlipali Super Thermal Power Station (2×800 MW), and NSPCL Rourkela PP-II Expansion Project (1×250 MW).
